Unison privacy policy
Last updated October 11, 2026
Unison (speakinunison.org and the Speak in Unison app) is run by Utopian Visions LLC. This page explains what Unison keeps about you, why, who can see it, and how to remove it.
What Unison keeps
- When you join: your email address, first name, and state if you give it. Your email is how you sign in and how Unison reaches you when the app can't.
- Your choices: the roles and platforms you pick, and whether you want email and notifications.
- Your voice number, assigned when you confirm.
- If you turn on notifications: a push token, a code that lets Unison send notifications to your phone.
- When a message reaches you: the time it arrived, and whether you opened it in the app, tapped Share, or tapped Copy. Tapping Share is all Unison can see. It can't see what you posted or where.
- When someone follows your link: which message it was, whose link, the time, and the name of the site they came from (for example, instagram.com). Unison does not record who clicked. It never stores their IP address or browser details, only a scrambled one-way code of each, used to avoid counting the same person twice. The IP code changes every day, so visits can't be linked across days.
- If you invite someone: that you invited them. You see how many people you brought in, not who they are.
- If you send a testimony: your words, and your choice to keep it private or let Unison publish it with your first name and state. Nothing is published without that choice.
- If you leave: any reason you choose to give.
What Unison does not do
No ads. No selling or renting your information. No analytics or tracking tools. No cookies for members. No location tracking (you type your state). No access to your contacts, camera, microphone or photos. No phone number.
Who can see your information
- You: your own record, your messages and your testimonies.
- The people who run Unison, currently Ash-Lee Woodard Henderson, can see member records.
- The public: never your name or email. Public numbers are totals only, and any state with fewer than five members is counted as "other" so no one can be singled out.
Services that handle your information so Unison can work
- Supabase stores the database and handles sign-in, in the United States.
- Cloudflare runs the website and share links. Like any web host, it sees the IP address of each visit.
- Resend sends Unison email, including your sign-in codes.
- Expo and Apple deliver notifications to your phone. They receive the notification and your push token, nothing else about you.
- Social apps such as Instagram or Bluesky, only when you choose to share. Unison opens that app with what you picked.
How long Unison keeps it
Until you delete your account. Nothing expires on its own.
Pausing, leaving and deleting
- Pause stops messages until you resume.
- Leave, in the app or through the unsubscribe link in any email, stops all messages.
- Delete, on the Account screen, removes your email, name, state, choices, push token and sign-in, and signs you out everywhere. Links you shared stop crediting you. What stays, with nothing on it that says who you were: your voice number and the counts of messages delivered, opened, shared and clicked, so Unison's totals stay accurate. A testimony already published stays published; unpublished ones become private. To have everything removed, including those counts and any published testimony, email send@speakinunison.org and it will be done by hand.
Age
Unison is for people 13 and older.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, members will be told by email before it takes effect.
